Vogue favourites

This lovely Sunday afternoon was perfect for chilling with Vogue and I thought I would share my favourite bits from the August issue.

My absolute favourite part of this  months Vogue is Laura Marling being photographed in Givenchy fetish, black and white, absolutely divine! Then again in Clavin Klein later on. She is a complete and utter natural beauty who sits effortlessly on the pages of Vogue; unlike Pixie Geldof who is no more a model than I am (for the record, I am not nor will I ever be a model) I must say I am rather disappointed with Vogue for that appointment. On the other hand I think Tali Lennox looks beautiful in that feature.

Secondly, I love the article with Christopher Bailey, the god of Burberry. I love Burberry, their trenchs are iconic and their style is right up my street, unfortunately they are also way out of my price league. I think Christopher comes across as really down to earth for a fashion hero but makes me rather proud of being British. He proves that you don't need to be ruthless to get ahead in business and I like that.

Now I wouldn't be much of a marketeer without being drawn to at least one of the ad campaigns that litter the pages of Vogue and this month it is most definitely the Pandora 'Lost in a moment' pages, striking images that make me want to run out and buy not only all of the jewellery but the dresses and the backdrop also. So whistfully elegant, I love it.
I also like the playful Chanel ads too, tres chic yet fun, very well executed.

I could go on and on about the Nip & Tuck article and best dresses featured in the article but I won't ruin it for anyone.

High Street Round Up

I love shopping... I love shopping most when I'm with Queen Fi (yes I call her that in homage to Queen B off Gossip Girl) I enjoy picking out items I know she will adore and I like that we each have our own styles that means we can instantly point out items for each other. However today was a sad day in which I had to shop on my own.

I must say whilst we are about to enter August I am completely aware that summer is over here in the UK. Autumn is possibly my favourite season  I don't know why apart from I love the fashion of the fall.

The high street is in the transition period where the last of the sale summer items have been pushed into a back corner of the store and the new items for Autumn are here, yay!
This Autumn I am pleased to observe, is full of browns, maroons, burnt reds and petrol blue hues. Not only is this an amazing colour pallete that seems to be accentuated by mustards (and in H&Ms case greens) but these colours have been applied to clothes that all seem to have walked straight out of the 70's! Perfect!!

Autumn fashion is a 70's throw back with maroon flares, fascinating prints and incredible knits that I cannot wait to get my hands on.

This Topshop maxi dress appears to be a key piece for any autumn wardrobe with it's feather print detail that accentuates the waist and the on trend one shoulder design, not to mention the colours are a blend of the warm autumn hues. I might add it looks even better in store.

River Island has an incredible range of jeans, flares and palazzo trousers in a multitude of colours, naturally I want all of them! As that probably wont happen, I will definitely be getting some maroon jeans and teaming them with a petrol blue top, some wedges and plenty of bangles.

Miss Selfridge has fast become my favourite store, their shoes are fab, the dresses totally my style and their handbags are so delicious I want them all.

Today I really needed to buy a new perfume, I want Vera Wang Lovestruck but as it is a week til pay day I couldn't really afford it, especially as I had already bought Series 1-3 of Gossip Girl, Topshop jewellery and had my eyebrows threaded so I ended up with Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur as it was nearly £20 cheaper. I like it, but do I love it like Vera Wang Lovestruck? Fraid not...

My hunt for a new perfume

I love my perfume Miss Dior Cherie, it is possibly the most amazing fragrance in the world, I haven't smelt them all but feel I have possibly come close! As it is so expensive I can only use it once in a very important blue moon... interviews, birthdays and well that's about the only time I have dared use it.
My day time perfume is J.Lo Love and Glamour but that has just ran out and I am wondering what fragrance to go for next.

I love Gossip Girl and when I found out Leighton Meester was the new face of Vera Wang Lovestruck it instantly struck a chord of intrigue and I must say when I smelt it I most definitely was not disappointed. It is quite heavy and more of a Autumn/Winter fragrance but I think I may go for it anyway but judging my the price tag it is going to have to wait until pay day!
